I was reading Isaiah 43:18-21 this morning, and it made me stop and think.

How often do we get so caught up in what happened before that we struggle to see what God could be doing now?

The disappointment. The mistake. The door that closed. Sometimes even the good seasons we wish we could get back to.

We remember how God moved before, and we expect Him to do it the same way again. But He can make a road through a wilderness and put rivers where everything looks dry.

I don’t know what you’re facing today. You may not see a way forward. You may be tired of trying to figure it all out. But what you can see isn’t the limit of what God can do.

Remember His faithfulness. Carry the lessons. But don’t hold so tightly to yesterday that you miss what He’s doing today.

I’m asking myself this, too: Am I praying attention, or am I so focused on what went wrong that I’m overlooking where He’s leading?

Shift Direction. There is still a reason to move forward with hope.
